The story follows Isma, a young woman who takes care of her younger siblings after their mother's death. The twins, Aneeka and Parvaiz, are British Muslims of Pakistani descent living in London. Isma pursues her own dreams in the US, while Aneeka studies law and Parvaiz is recruited by ISIS. The narrative explores themes of nationalism, citizenship, and family bonds, drawing parallels to the tragedy of Antigone.
